It makes you realize how easy we have it these days. I think I would have been inconsolable terrified if I had hear this story as a child. Sounds reasonable to me, what's the problem? Now, if only we could sic the Krampus and Zwarte Piet on those who inflict Christmas music on the rest of us in stores and other public places during the holiday season...
(Actually, classical Christmas music is fine, but as for the popular stuff, "Bah! Humbug!")A. I was such a trying child that it's a surprise my parents never dug him out of the myth books and used him on me!

Love the Luke passage, William, and look forward to your other post.RM Griffithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12839456272512737899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2693278311831499317.post-37000674368337980242015-12-23T07:47:16.944-08:002015-12-23T07:47:16.944-08:00Am grateful that I was not confronted with Krampus...Am grateful that I was not confronted with Krampus when I grew up in Sweden. I think it's fascinating learning about various traditions. Even today there are some that rival my imagination, but as you point out, it's not for us to condemn. I think I've always felt this way on some level, but living in Hawaii and becoming involved with the culture over the years has helped me to truly appreciate the differences as well as similarities we all share. Thanks William! Wishing you peace, love and joy as we head into a New Year!Marquitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01834185614478268016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2693278311831499317.post-51206812193184497672015-12-21T22:16:19.009-08:002015-12-21T22:16:19.009-08:00Very groovy Krampus article, William!Very groovy Krampus article, William!Nicholas Grabowskyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13990202632130717791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2693278311831499317.post-40049835845515298602015-12-21T19:36:20.412-08:002015-12-21T19:36:20.412-08:00The prospect of a confrontation with the Krampus m...The prospect of a confrontation with the Krampus must surely have seemed more threatening to a child and the possibility of getting coal in your stocking.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14291236742674605851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2693278311831499317.post-6009530485797551582015-12-21T10:42:35.288-08:002015-12-21T10:42:35.288-08:00Interesting and a bit Ho-Ho-Horrible.
