This past weekend I attended the New Hampshire RenaissanceFaire. This was the first time I ever attended this faire, and I was not
disappointed. The faire is held at Brookvale Pine Farm in Fremont, New
Hampshire, this is a fourth-generation farm, read more about it here. This was
the 15th edition of this faire.
Since this is a major faire, I need to reduce my
introduction, and the history, of the faire, and get right to the vendors, artisans
and performers I saw there. As always, I
apologize for not being able to recognize everyone at this faire, but due to
the space limit I cannot, the following is a partial list. Check out the faire

Brotherhood of the Arrow and Sword- I have seen this great
group over the years at the faires I have attended. Each time I see them, I learn something new
and their shows never disappoint. Make sure to check them out at an event near
you. I cannot give enough praise to them
and they are always on the top of my do not miss list for any
medieval/renaissance faire.
Corner Stone Creations- Home made and decorative concreate
art. This is a vendor I have spoken to over the last few years, and have bought
some products from him. He makes and
sells some great items.

The Longshanks- Story telling is an ancient art, and hard to
do. This duo not only is great
storytellers, they do it on stilts high above the ground. During a faire, you
may see them walking around the event, so make sure to say hello.
Les Jeux De Rois (translation “King’s Game”)- an
international jousting group. Their equestrian skills andability with sword and
lance are impressive.
Archery at the Three Maples will be run by JOAD (Junior
Olympic Archery Development)- Here you can try your skill at the bow and arrow.
Primrose Pirates- They might be pirates, but they also
have one of the few black powder demonstrations around. This demonstration is very impressive, as
their knowledge of these weapons is unmatched. They also have a pummel a pirate
where your kids can try their luck at hitting one of them. A great group and
should not to be missed.
Tintagel’s Gate- If you are looking for a sword or other
weapon and other items like incense or wands, go to this vendor first.
Granny Grue the Zombie- The vegetarian zombie, her stories
will make you laugh. A great performer.
The Mad Mailler- Not sure how mad he is, but I am convinced
he produces some great chain mail items.
The Grinning Dwarf- Another pair of friends I truly enjoy
visiting. They sell some great leather
items. Truly a do not miss.
Mary Lawrence -A great author of he Alchemist’s Daughter,
Death of an Alchemist and Death at St. Vedast.
Charity Wench & Lad Auction- Items that were donated
were modeled by woman and lads of the faire.
All the money raised went to charity.
The faire itself is run to promote
giving to charity (the New Hampshire Food Bank and Rockingham Meals on Wheels),
if you want to help, go to their donate page and give to one of their charities.
Moon Dragon Designs- this is your go to place to shop for
100% handmade jewelry
Made by Hand Leather- I have known Calab Hand for several
years. A great craftsman who sells some
wonderful products at an incredible price.
Kimberly’s Creatures- Hand made and unique sculptures. I have seen this wonderful vendor at numerous
faires, so check them out.
Faerie Worx- seller of some beautiful items that will
brighten your life. Check out their website for their great products.
Captain Jay and The Northeast Buccaneers- The crew of this
pirate ship will entertain the little ones in the crowd.
Medieval Memories & Wicked Crafty Witch- A photo booth
with costumes and props.
Zoo Creatures- Brought some wonderful animals for your viewing and petting.
Auntie Arwen’s Spices- this business was started in 1990
specializing in some wonderful blends of ingredients, a wonderful vendor.
Burlap Beggar- He has many unique things to trade or for you
to buy. Check out his Facebook page.
The Misfits of Avalon- they are a small member group, but their sound sounds
like an orchestra. They are truly great
performers.
Hickory Arms- Handmade Medieval and fantasy wooden practice
swords and dagger. Check out their marshmallow shooting crossbow.
The Bonnie Weaver- A wonderful artist keeping the art of
weaving alive. Stop by when you see her and have her demonstrate her trade.
Shimmynanigans- Lovely lady belly dancers. They have a
wonderful performance and also give lessons during the faire.
Glass Sails- A wonderful glassblower that sells some
wonderful glass items.
You could get a ride on a unicorn
Redneck BBQ- here you can get your renaissance faire food
such as Turkey legs, ribs and so much more.
Laughing Hyena Studios- maker and seller of some wonderful wands,
leather goods, and leather masks.
My Magical Emporium- a vendor of All natural healing
products.
The King’s Busketeers- A great musical group that knows how
to liven up a crowd.
Emazanti Creations- from , gowns, chemises, blouses, shirts,
pants, doublets, vests, hats, belts, to custom-made jewelry, this vendor has it
all.
As I stated this is but a partial list, the faire is so
immense I could not list them all. Even though the faire runs for two weekends,
you could be their everyday and not see everything they have to offer. Being
the first time I visited this faire, I must say how impressed I am with it, and
will continue to go in years to come.
They had a booth to buy some wonderful souvenirs. I purchased a commemorative mug.
The people who put on this faire (Three Maples Ren Corp)
must be commended for a wonderful job they do putting on such a great event.
From the way the faire is run, to the vendors, artists and performers in it, is
a salute to the people who put on this faire. Make sure to mark your calendar
for next year.
