New York Renaissance Faire 2019

I recently attended the New York Renaissance Faire which is located New York at 600 Route 17A, Tuxedo, NY.  Tuxedo is a town located in Orange County, New York along the Ramapo River.  This is a beautiful area, and I suggest you learn more about it, and visit it sometime.

This faire is approximately 45 miles from NYC, this means you can experience delay in traffic, or parking issues. The New York Renaissance Faire was originally created 1977.  It also has themed weekends, check them out here.

This is what I refer to as a commercial faire. This is not a judgement on the faire, but merely a classification. You can read about what I determine is a commercial faire on a previous blog.

Since it is a large faire, let’s get right to all the vendors, entertainment and activities it has to offer.

Hawk Studio- What a great craftsman with leather.  He is truly remarkable.  If you need some leather products, check him out first.

Adventure Armoury- Makers of some great looking practice wooden swords since 1980.  Check out their Etsy site.

Capricorn Arms- They sell some wonderful weapons and armory, be it historical or fantasy.  It is one of the places I seek out when I am at this faire.

Catskill Mountain Moccasins-Founded in 1987, they are a group dedicated artisans that make some of the the finest, and comfortable footwear. They make their footwear from a cast of your feet.

This is the video I made for the faire. Do not forget to “Like” and “Subscribe” to my YouTube page. Cirque du Sewer- She is one of my all-time favorites.  Trainer, and performer with rats and cats.  She is truly amazing.

Imaginarium Galleries- Do you want a hand carved puppet sitting on your shoulder? Who doesn’t.  Get it here.  This is the best site I can find for this vendor.

Eddie Jeff Cahill- A great performer. This was actually the first time I have seen him perform.

Skaldvik Viking Village- A living history encampment. These historical living reenactors deserve praise for their accuracy on historical detail.  One of the places I seek out at this faire.

There is also a Pub Crawl, you can taste brew from some of the beverage vendors at the faire.

The Belrose – You say you want to dress up for the faire, but don’t have a costume of your own!!!  No worries, rent one here.

Stewart and Arnold Knife Throwing Show- A father and son duo that not only will amaze you with knife throwing skills, but will make you laugh all day.

They had a magnificent parade.

Arsene Dupin Magikhana Show-Internationally recognized magician. He is truly amazing, and knows how to entertain the crowd.

Hollow Earth Swordworks- They sell some great wooden weapon replicas, including crossbows.

The Art of Leslie Casilli- very impressive original artwork. Truly beautiful.

You can rent a paddle boat but watch out for the sea serpent.

Sales from the Crypt- Quality concrete or Rapidset hydrolic cement to make skulls, gargoyles and Celtic items. Check them out to see their products.

Shakespeare Approves- I have seen him at other faires, he will leave you laughing and entertained.

You can enjoy some rides at the faire, all powered by hand.

Starfire Swords- We spoke about wooden practice swords above, get the real ones here.  Great quality and they also do custom work.

The Washing Well Wenches- If they do not put a smile on your face, seek medical attention immediately. You will be hard pressed to find a funnier group of performers.

Valhalla Horns- Be it horns for blowing or drinking from, they sell some of the best out there.

A word of advice, this faire sits on 65 acres of land, it has tons of activities, performers and merchants.  I suggest you make sure you have a map and a schedule.  You could get lost (not physically) in this area and miss something you wanted to see.

Normally at a faire, I try to get a good majority of performers and vendors who attend it.  I am limited in space of this blog, and time at that particular faire.  The New York Renaissance Faire is so immense, I hardy scratched the surface of what they offer.  Go to the faires entertainment, and artisanmarketplace to find out more.

The New York Renaissance Faire is so large you could spend the whole weekend and not discover everything it offers.  It runs from Aug. 17 – Oct. 6, so you can make plans to attend several weekends, you will not be disappointed.

The company that puts on this faire produces others across the country, Southern California and Bristol, Wisconsin
