World’s Largest Garage Sale/Connecticut Renaissance Faire

This past weekend, I attended two events, so let’s get right into it.

Warrensburg, NY hosts what they describe as the World’slargest Garage Sale. The town is located in Warren County, NY. This is an interesting fact; the county is named after General Joseph Warren (the man who enlisted William Dawes, and Paul Revere, to warn about the British), the town itself is named after James Warren, who was an early settler of the area.

The World’s Largest Garage Sale has something to offer everyone. There are vendors selling new products at a discount, antiques, and also people selling things from their home. It is truly amazing to see how many people invade this small town during this sale.

Many people bring carts to carry what they bought. If you didn't, don't worry, they sell them.

If you get a chance make sure to visit next year. You will get some great deals, and be welcomed into a great community.

Connecticut Renaissance Faire

This is actually my second time in attending this festival this year, you can read about it in a previous blog.  I enjoyed myself so much the first time, I decided to attend it again.  The faire is located on Mack Rd. Lebanon, Ct.  It is the 19th rendition of the faire, but the first year at this new location.

The faire has themed weekends, this past one was the “Time Travelers Weekend”, this meant you could see a knight, standing next to Dr. Who, or a Stormtrooper.

In this blog, you will read about some of the vendors and artists I saw earlier, and some new ones too.

Vixens en Garde- I am unsure if I possess the lexicon to be able to describe them differently than I have in the past.  This is my go-to, seek out, entertainment for events.  You have to see them to appreciate their skill, acting, and entertainment abilities on stage.

Archery Demo with Master Archer Bill Darr- He is truly talented with a bow and arrow.  His demonstration also includes some very educational information about archery used in battles during  the middle ages. He also creates his bows and arrows and are available at Whipperwil Archery

Oakstar Boots- A very good vendor of boots and footwear. Check out their Facebook page for more information.

The Lords of Adventure- This pair of entertainers, swordsman, and comedians will make everyone laugh.

Spur of the Moment Jousting- You cannot have a renaissance festival without a joust and demonstration, and this group is one of the best.

Fairies from the Glenwood- A family of fairies that will certainly entertain the entire family.  Their show will charm the child in all of us.

Fairy Tailor- Producers of some excellent attire such as jackets, hates and capes. Make sure to check them out.

Dark Rain Design- To say they produce some interesting animated toys and products would be a total understatement. I was truly amazed when I saw their intricate mechanical designs. The best way to understand what they are is to imagine Bubo the owl in the movie "Clash of the Titans" (1981).

You will find some interesting creatures at the faire, but do not worry, they all are very friendly.  This is Weeboo the Windigo





I truly enjoy this faire, and it is one of the best in the North East. It runs until October 9^th, so you still have time to attend.  If you cannot make it this year, clear your calendar for the weekends it is running next year; you do not want to miss it.
