Saratoga Comic Con 2019

I recently attended the Saratoga Comic Con which was held on April 27 and 28.  This is a major occasion for this type of event in this area and the 5th year for the convention.  It included celebrities, merchandise, attractions, panels and of course comic books.

The event is held at Saratoga Springs City Center,522 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY.

There is so much to cover, so let me describe the people, artists and vendors that were part of the Saratoga Comic Con.  As always, I apologize for not being able to list all the wonderful people who made this such a wonderful event.

Montreal X-Men- I am going to start off with this great group of cosplay performance actors.  They have ended up being one of my favorite people to visit. These performers use cosplay to reproduce charters, in this case the Marvel’s X-Men of comic book and movie fame.  More than just engaging in their passion, they do it to help charities.  Groups like this make the world a better place, and I recommend that you seek them out at an event near you, if you run an event, contact them to see if they can appear.

Tyler Mane- an actor and professional wrestler most notably wrestling as Big Sky in WCW.  You probably will know him as Sabretooth from the “X-Men” (2000) movie, and also Michael Myers in the Rob Zombie version of Halloween.

Martin Klebba- Best known as “Marty”, one of Captain Jack Sparrow’s Black Pearl crew, from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” francise. He has also appeared in numerous shows and movies from “Scrubs “to “Cradle 2 the Grave”.

They were some of the celebrities at this event. I with several and they are some great people, do not miss an opportunity to meet with them and the other celebrities that appeared at this event.

Cooper's Cave- One of the wonderful sponsors of this comic con. They have comics, gams, toys, paintball and a whole lot more.  They sponsored and put on a gaming tournament at the convention.

Hudson Valley Ghostbusters Inc.- There Facebook page says, “Bringing the joy of Ghostbusters to the people, and helping out the community along the way!” And this is what they do, they are another great cosplay performance group that does it to help others.  Make sure to check them out.
Your kids could spend some time in a bouncy bonce

Eternally Thirsty- Creator of some wonderful horns, clothing and other items. I have seen this vendor at several events, they make some great products and always great to stop and chat with them.

Tony Atlas- Readers of my post will notice I have run into him at several wrestling events and conventions. He is a legend in the sport, and also a great guy.

Armadillo Games- Vendor of some wonderful pieces for board and role-playing games.  Really great created works.

The Batcycle was there.

Darby Pop Publishing- This award winning group puts out some wonderful graphic novels, comics and some pretty impressive illustrations. Check them out on their website, you will not be disappointed.

Some Star Wars characters showed up

Jack Holder- Writer of some great novels, particularly his “Demon Riders” and ”Dealing with the Apocalypse novels, also a contributor at Epic Stream. He also is promoting a funding for “Why Faith” a comic anthology of thirty stories that explore why one does or does not have faith. Check out Arcane Inkdustries too.

The Farmer’s Daughter Drive In- There physical location is 882 NY Route 29, Saratoga Springs, NY. What a wonderful place to go. Open from mid-March to the end of October. Check out their wonderful menu.

Umbrella Group (Springfield Hive) - another cosplay performance actors who cosplayers who like “Resident Evil”.  They too do wonderful things to help the community.

I created a small video about this event

Arcway Gaming- I was pretty impressed with their VR gaming they provided. If you run a convention or event, see if you can hire them, you too will be impressed.

Green Mountain Sports Cards & Gaming-They specialize in any type of sports cards, memorabilia and gaming needs.

You could purchase some memorabilia and souvenirs of your visit the Saratoga Comic Con.
The crowd was huge and everyone had fun
Super Show the Game (SRG) - a multi-player card & dice game set in a secret wrestling federation where competitors compete for glory. If you like either multi player games or wrestling, this is for you.

X-Files Preservation Collection- . A group always looking to get new and hard to find crew gifts, promo material, show items, all dealing with the great show “The X-Files”.

What I described above is but a fraction of what the Saratoga Springs Comic had to offer.  They good people who put on this great event, also put on the fall Saratoga Chase Con event. You can read about my experience there last year.  This event takes place in the fall (October 26-27), so do not miss it.
